Enable failed logon attempts for domain users?
I'm looking to setup failed logon attempts by users on the domain workstations.
Have looked around on Internet but to no avail. Not looking at Domain Controller logon auditing at the moment, just logon attempts from workstations.
We have a mixed 2003/2008r2 domain controller environment at the moment with our PDC as the 2003 box.

You can do this with 2008 R2, but your functional level must be 2008 R2 also.
By enabling the policy - Computer Config > Policies > Admin Templates > Windows Components > Windows Logon Options - Display information about previous logons during user logon - Enabled

Well I got it logging Account Logons but even though I've selected Failure only not Success after several attempts at different test user accounts, I do not see a Failure in Security Log of event veiwer. I have to DC's and have only done this on the PDC at the moment.

I think to have this working your forest and domain function level has to be Server 2008 or 2008 R2
