Hi All,
The old network manager set our SIMS server C drive up with only 15GB and its running low on space, the E drive has alot of space not being used. Is there a way i can change the size of the C drive easiler? and take space from the E drive? I have tried Partition Magic but this only works on PC's, is there any software that is similar for servers? It is running server 2003, any help would be appreciated, thank you

Just download the live CD and boot from that, will enable you to shrink the E drive and increase the C drive, very similar to PM, but open source.
And remember: BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!!!! (but I'm sure you knew that)

These kinds of disk changes are indeed quite simple but have the ablity to go bad fast with just a single little error.

4th January 2012, 01:05 PM #4 If you're feeling brave... backup the server completely... twice. Sort the partitions out and then restore. We backup to NAS which made life easier.
It's actually what we did when we acquired the second server. We restored a couple of the shares to the other server as well just to make life even more interesting... it worked!
I'm not sure I'd have done it without 'my man' (infinitely more experienced in server management) who helps out sat next to me though!
