    Hi,

I am trying to demote a domain controller and i am getting the attached error. The domain will going all together. It is a child domain in a forest. The parent domains will be staying. This is the last DC in the domain. When i run dcpromo i am selecting "last domain controller in the domain". I can ping and NSlookup the DC in the parent domain it cannot contact. The last DC is a DNS and a global catalogue server. All severs in the forest are Server 2003.

Because of the existing forest etc i dont want to use the /forceremove switch.

The domain is called FPHS this is how the forest is structured

    CLCR (domain)
    |
    CLCF (domain)
    |
    FPHS

I am using credentials of an Enterprise Admin account.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

    Thanks
