    DHCP Event 1014

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: DhcpServer
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 1014
    Date: 24/03/2011
    Time: 15:00:14
    User: N/A
    Computer: CIS1
    Description:
The following problem occurred with the Jet database -1032: Jet database read or write operations failed. If the computer or database has just been upgraded, then this message can be safely ignored. If this message appears frequently, either there is not enough disk space to complete the operation or the database or backup database may be corrupt. To correct this problem, either free additional space on your hard disk or restore the database. After you restore the database, ensure that conflict detection is enabled in DHCP server properties. For information about restoring the database, see Help and Support Center. Additional Debug Information: JetBackup.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at Events and Errors Message Center: Basic Search.
    Data:
    0000: f8 fb ff ff
So, I cant backup my database, DHCP seems to be fine.

Ive been following the steps here - Windows 2003 Server DHCP Event 1014: The following problem occurred with the Jet database -1011: Jet database read or write operations failed

    But so far nothings worked.

AV isnt scanning the folders, I cant access the backup old folders or rename them.

Anyone care to point me in the right direction?

    Thanks

    Hi

FIrst of all Did you disable indexing on the DHCP database folder if applicable?

If you still have error then I suggest you try to compact the Jet Databse.

Open a Command Prompt and use Jetpack.exe command line utility to perform an offline compaction.

    jetpack database_name temporary_database_name

These are example commands to compact the DHCP database:

    cd %systemroot%\system32\dhcp

    net stop dhcpserver

    jetpack dhcp.mdb tmp.mdb

    net start dhcpserver

    Hi Sukh,

    Thanks for the reply.
I am unable to remove system32\dhcp\old from the indexing service as I dont have permission?

I have compacted the databases and will let you know what happens.

    Thanks

    Chris
