Windows Server 2000/2003 Thread, scheduled task re-start of windows 2003 Server in Technical; Morning,
I have tried a script so my windows 2003 server re-starts at 5am every morning however it didnt work

i use shutdown and put this in the scheduled task run cmd line C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe -r -f -t 01 and it works.

If you want it in a script just create a .bat file and call that from the scheduler.
Here's what I did.
Rem Auto reboot script
Rem - Use scheduler to activate out of hours
C:\Windows\system32\shutdown.exe -r -t 60 /d p:2:17
you may want to use -f (to force a showdown if your server refuses to without it).
