RIP Windows 2000. Passed Away Quietly 13th July 2010

Well, it was a very low key announcement but:

So long then, Windows 2000 ? The Register

There it is. Dead, buried and unsupported. Must come as a bit of a wrench to Simon this as he's only just upgraded his schools from Win 98 to 2000

00001010 roughly translates to '10', but depends on local dialects etc etc.

I still have a Win 2000 server knocking about, admittedly it not a mission critical device, but it does it job quietly without any trouble.
I will have to go tell it its official dead now
