server 2003 static ip address says acquiring network address continually.
I get a message when i try to set ip address:
The IP address you have entered for this network adapter is already assigned to x.x.x.x another adapter Name of adapter. Name of adapter is hidden from the network and Dial-up Connections folder because it is not physically etc
But i cannot see anyother adapters.
I did the set devmgr_show_ thing, and removed nic but still not working
Anyone know how i can delete this on board nic and start again
Thanks

26th June 2010, 04:33 PM #2 you have to set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices AND click "view - show hidden devices" in the mmc.

26th June 2010, 05:09 PM #3 Thanks.
I had tried this also. It is very strange. I dont trust this NIC after prbs i have been having. I am meant to have two NICS,but hardware only shows 1, and this one seems to re number itself each time i reboot, and when i go to properties i have the issue taht i mentioned earlier
