Is there a way via GP to empty the recycle bin when a user logs off? We are on Server 2003 r2, and XP desktops.
Thanks y'all.

Hi have a look at the scipt at the bottom of this page.
Empty Recycle bin on exit using Group Policy : Microsoft, Server, 2003, Group Policy
Richard
The solution doesn't seem to load like it normally does...
I addressed this in my last school with a script I shared here. This one is more complex than what you've asked for in that it only chucks stuff that's been deleted for a set amount of time, but you can certainly trim it down to remove that functionality if you wish.

Thanks angrytechnician. Which are the bits to remove? Basically just want the whole recycle bin to be emptied on log-off.
Anyone else got any scripts?

Take a look at this thread: Empty recycle bin after n days![]()
Set GP to run a script at user log off which runs this little app Optimum X Download Page You will need to use the /Q switch when running from the script. Used it at both of my schools for the past 3 years with out any problems!
