Rename Hosts to something sensible - script

    Good Morning Fellow Edugeekers..

Right, I'm wanting to rename the machines in my school to something sensible.

Currently they are SiteCode-Number (so BSS0001) but I want to rename them to being SiteCode-Type-Room-Number (so BSS-WS-ICT-001).

Now, I have lists of which machine is where and running Spiceworks so I can grab their MAC addresses, but jut wondering if I can script a rename when they are joined to the domain or will that everything up?

Well there we go, it wasn't using MAC addresses, but using the original machine names I've renamed them all to something sensible using a simple batch file.

    Thanks again Prad.
