Shadow Copies - +2TB Drives

We had about 500gb with Shadow copies working but when we extented it to 2tb it failes to take a snap shot after 2 occasions.
Error code - 0x80042306 : the shadow copy provifer had an error
Has any one had any issue or got shadow copies working on drives bigger than 1tb??
Thanks

We were told not to go any bigger than 2Tb chunks in fact keeping ours to just below at 1.99Tb as the file size limitation 32Bit has something to do with this. :-)

we are at 1.99 TB but we are still having issues.
You run 32 or 64 bit?
Thanks

32Bit as CC4 doesn't support 64Bit
all our new servers are 64Bit capable though.

MS recommend keeping volumes and files less than 2Tb in general but VSS should break that down into many smaller files so it 'should' be ok.
Can you reduct the amount of snapshots for a short time, this will reduce the storage size you can then see if this solves the issue?

12th October 2009, 02:00 PM #7 Follow through Volume Shadow Copy Error 0x80042306 - provider veto, obviously ignoring the bits which are just relevant to their backup software.
Used to hate VSS on Windows servers, totally unreliable. Now have all our shares on some Sun 7000 storage boxes and now have rock solid shadow copies twice a day going back over 190 days to when I first set them up and it all works with the shadow copy client.

we are struggling for it to take more than 2 snap shots before it errors
