windows SharePoint Services
Hi Guys,
I have recently setup WSS, what i want to acheive is to setup a hyperlink within WSS to users personal area. I would like when a user logs into WSS they click on the hyperlink and they go straight into their own user area. Can anyone tell me how i can acheive this.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

10th September 2009, 09:23 PM #2 Are their user areas mapped to a drive?
You could create the hyperlink to X:\My Documents - or whatever your path may be?

They are mapped to the H drive, but i want to setup one hyperlink instead of many so when each user clicks on the hyperlink they see all their files

10th September 2009, 10:06 PM #5 In that case, you will need to start looking at webparts so that you can direct the document library to an internal server address for each user.
Richard @ Salamandersoft has something that does this:
SalamanderSoft Limited - My Documents & My Shared Documents Web Parts : Access to your home folder and shares through SharePoint
There is also an open source homedrive webpart in which you can download of codeplex and the link to that is:
WSS and MOSS Home Drive - Home
Hope that helps,
James.

WSS and MOSS HomeDrive.wsp file, can you please advise if it is added to WSS using stsadm in the same way you add the WSS and MOSS templates? or is it done a different way.
Please advise

Hi Guys i am a bit stuck here just wondering if you could shed some light. I have downloaded the WSS and MOSS HomeDrive webpart. Have renamed the HomeDrive.CAB file to HomeDrive.WSP. I ran the stsadm -o addsolution -filename HomeDrive.WSP. This was successfuly added. I then ran stsadm -o deploysolution -name homedrive.wsp -url http://servername/site -allowgacdeploy -local. This again was successful. I then ran stsadm -o copyappbincontent. Can you please tell me what next do i need to do to allow my users to click on the hyperlink and see there files for there home areas.
Thanks
