We have a server with IIS installed, and it seems to have several 'websites' running on the same port but under different instance names.
In a HOSTS file if we added
10.1.2.3 iisinstance
That seems to work
But if we add the instance name with the server IP to the DNS it means when someone goes to iisinstance.ourdomain.com it comes up with the default instance.
Does this post make any sense? And if so how do we rectify the problem?

Didn't realize the host header value required the .ourdomain.com sticking on the end
Cheers
