Hi Guys,
Hope someone can help with this..
We run a split network here in terms of we have 50/50 Thin client devices and Desktops.
I came in this morning and no one could logon to a Terminal Client. It was throwing up errors about the Roaming profile?? So i first checked the desktops with the same user and they logged on fine with the correct profile.
I then thought it must be my terminal servers that were the problem so i looked into Terminal Services Manager and no servers were in my list. If i tried to add these servers it gave me an error "server not found".
So i rebooted all my TS servers and this seemed to solve the issue.... Until 1 hour later and it all happened again...
Please help...

Do they have the firewall enabled? Might sounds daft or simple but i have known the firewall to turn on randomly on Windows.

30th March 2009, 02:30 PM #3 Hi,
Yer i have checked that we have the service disabled on servers anyway..
I'm just trying to Remove and Rejoin a server to the domain to see if the authentication has messed up somewhere..
Regards

30th March 2009, 02:31 PM #4 What does the event log show?
-
-
30th March 2009, 02:45 PM #5 Its just spamming this error 10 times every second.
The description for Event ID ( 2453 ) in Source ( KIXTART ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: UserGetLocalGroups failed Error : Could not find domain controller for this domain. (0x995/2453).
But like i said everyone on a desktop is fine so the domain controllers are fine.

Hi
This could actually be a Microsoft licensing issue. Check to ensure the TS Cal's are being released after use. I have had a customer with the same type of problem.
Please let me know how you get on
Thanks,
Will Lingard

I doubt it if it is happening to other servers that are not Terminal Servers.
