Server 2003 and backup exec 12

Anyone else have problems with restores with this combination? We've enabled software encryption on our drives and I can't absolutely confirm that's the cause but previously we were able to restore successfully. Now our AD fails, even restoring in ADRM.

I've only carried out a test restore with one of our 60 servers, but I've a feeling that when we get a chance to try another one it'll go similar road. Oddly event logs after restore show lots of errors that aren't there in the live server, so it's obviously not restoring everything, although there's no errors on either the backup or restore.
