Hey, Just wondering about disabeling the shadow copy on a drive on the server, I am wondering will it flush the shadow copy.
I think it does, although you could possibly just change the schedule so that it never runs again which would leave your existing copies there. The service would still be running though... depends what you're trying to achieve I guess.
Its all in aid of eradicating the conflicker virus! :P Which seems to be reapearing from the shadow copy.
Disabling and re-enabling shadow copy should do the trick then. To check if the space is freed up after you disable shadow copy, look at the free disk space on the volume before and after.
It's hard to look at the shadow copy files themselves because they live inside "System Volume Information" which only the SYSTEM account has access to by default.

Or just manage the drive and remove the previous shadow copies, no need to kick the service.
