Hi, Can anyone recommends a good server monitoring software which should be good enough to monitor about four servers on a small business level please?

Nagios. Nagios: The Leader and Industry Standard in Enterprise System, Network, and Application Monitoring

I use it at our school for monitoring about a dozen servers and a dozen switches. Works great.

We also use nagios, and use it to monitor some of our HP printers.

We are currently monitoring 94 hosts.

I also use the Nagios/Thunderbird plugin.

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/3607

    Which is useful.

We use GroundWork Open Source IT Monitoring and Network Monitoring Software which uses nagios for the monitoring but it provides an easy way to set it up.

Agreed. I use it here, very useful. Just wish it was a little more usable with non-hp printers.

I use groundowork to email the helpdesk when toners are out on our various printers so that a job request is there for everyone to see.
