Can I run WAMP along side IIS

    ...... on the same machine?

I need to move the new intranet (joomla ran) from the test server on to a machne that has plenty of file space for future expansion of our intranet.

Yes, as long as they are using different ports.

Thank you for the quick responce.

How do I give the wamp server a name loike 'Intranet'

so when users type intranet in to IE they get pointed to the intranet that is running on the wamp server?

Just add a new value into DNS. If you setup WAMP on a different port you would then need to type intranetort#

Another option is to add another IP address to your server and then bind apache to this. I have done this and will let you have both IIS + Apache running on the same port (eg 80)

another option could be to create a virtual server so both sites can run on the same web server application. So both separate sites can run on either apache or IIS.

I currently run Wamp and IIS on the same Win2003 server. Although I only need IIS for OWA, it has worked flawlessly (for the most part) and I love Wamp.

*note, i'm aware this post has not true value to the OP, just to help assure that it's not a bad path to take.
