Windows Server 2000/2003 Thread, Office 2007 completes setup every time in Technical; Hi all,
We seem to have a problem with our office 2007 (12) setup. To give you some background:

You need to update the mandatory profile. Rename NTUSER.MAN to NTUSER.DAT, logon as an admin using that profile, run Office 2007, logoff, then rename NTUSER.DAT back to NTUSER.MAN.
As a recommendation, create a copy of a domain administrator account, but do not specify a home directory in AD. Otherwise the modified profile will also remember the home directory and create problems.

RESOLVED - Office 2007 setup completes each time
Thanks Michael - that fixed it. I was looking for a problem with Application Data although as you say this was a profile issue.
Office 2007 was running the configuration and installation wizard (see attached pic) each time it was run by an unprivileged user (a student in this case).
Client: Windows XP Pro (SP2)
Server: Windows Server 2003
Profile (see Michael's post)

When you renamed NTUSER, did you run every Office application? In turn run then close, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc...
Have you applied Office 2007 Service Pack 1 + other hotfixes? WSUS 3.0 would handle this for you once configured.
