I still think your LEA is blocking this as i used to have the same issue, can access the logmein website but can't get to remote at all as it tells me that logmein is offline.

I used to get the red cross on the machine where i installed logmein even though it was enabled!!! I would contact your LEA if you can.

Thanks for everyone's help- I'll probably have to contact the LEA. I'll post what I find out.

    Thanks!

I have the same problem with LCC i work in alot of schools round lancashire and the only way ive found to get around the proxy is using ultrasurf:

UltraSurf this will probably be blocked at school but if you download it at home and take it in on a usb drive it works fine, you dont need to install anything it runs straight from your usb drive and you can access logmein and any other site you like. takes about 30 seconds to connect and your away

we had the same problem on a couple of machines when installing logmein, we realised that Sophos was reporting suspicious bahviour when installling and was stopping it from running correctly.

I have the same problem too.
I think the problem is that proxy server will check what version/type the browswer you use, like
    IE5.0, IE6.0,Netscape,etc.
But our app did not send any information about browser version.

From within the logmein app, you can test the proxy server, does that bit work. it proves the pc can talk to the proxy. next step in the line is whether the protocols are allowed out of the proxy to the web and back in again.

I have solved the problem by using porttunnel and ip-tools.
1.I watch which port logmein used. And this port is TCP 2002.
2.I add a new set for porttunnel.
    In 2002/single/any
    Out 8080/computer name/any(my proxy using port 8080 )
then I turn the logmein service off .
3.start the porttunnel ,then stop it.
    4.start service in sequence:
    logmein,porttunnel,logmein maintenace service.

    It's all.

Hi there, I had this problem a couple of weeks ago when users were complaining that PC was offline when it was switched on. I went onto the PC in question and changed all the power settings and display to never switch off eg: was set to power off after 15 mins of inactivity both monitor and HD. Also take hibernation off and sleep mode on LAN. Since I done this it has worked perfectly everytime.

    Hope this helps

A lot of ISPs have blocked LogMeIn as kids realised they could us it to control their home pc and get around any and all filtering.
