Huh? It's just a £999 Samsung Series 7 700T tablet with Windows 8 pre-installed instead of Windows 7. :confused:

Well, this being such an early version, no doubt things will change. However, they really have to remember that their main market is business, not home users or tablets. Developing something that works great on tablets is a good idea, but not at the expense of the bread and butter 'desktop' machines that hundreds of millions of employees use every day in the office.

I had a feeling that might be coming ever since they made the iSCSI Target a free download. This kills off Windows Storage Server as a separate SKU. No bad thing as far as I'm concerned.Quote:

How the hell do you exit a program on Windows 8, its driving me potty. If i press the Windows key it just switches between applications.

Doesn't run in VMware Workstation 7.
Does run in VMware Workstation 8 (released today) and virtualbox.
Most importantly, runs SIMS ok.
Its more of an overlay for windows 7 then a new OS IMO. At 3:05 he shows a normal windows 7 (what looks like it anyway) at the click of a button, reminds me of windows media center, looked neat but never used it over windos media player and a standard desktop UI but when used on a TV as a media station I can see its advantage, this looks great for a tablet but its nothing new its already on windows mobile devices which I really like but im yet to try one myself.
From what I have heard they still need a better way to launch and switch between apps in desktop mode. Sure the tablet stuff will be great on the .01% of machines that have touch screens but multimonitered desktops will be seriously gimped without proper consideration. I think someone needs to throw a chair bacck at Balmer with some notes for improvement on it.
Alt+tab works as normal and the taskbar is still there in desktop mode. Touch can use swipe gestures to switch apps.Quote:
