Microsoft Scraps Windows 8 Major Updates. Bets The Farm On Windows 9

This is interesting. Microsoft won't be updating Windows 8.1, favouring development of their next great O/S. I personally witness customers taking Windows 7 or downgrading Windows 8 to 7 daily, but my experience of Windows 8.1 has been positive. I've certainly gotten better at using it on tablets but have resisted the upgrade to 8 on my desktop.

Since installing Classic Shell's start menu Classic Shell - Start menu and other Windows enhancements I forget I'm even using Windows 8.1, It's just like Windows 7 but I still benefit from having the better security features and all the other good-ness Windows 8 brings

Looking forward to Windows 9 though I do think they need an entirely new theme Windows is starting to look a little dated compared to it's competitors!

its definitely better on tablets but imo not metro is fine on desktop\laptop been running it since it came out. yes it has manglement issues but these days it is aimed at owners not sys admins so thats par for the course and ive never once felt the need for a start menu replacement.

p.s. VeryPC_Colin_M nice to put a name to a face on friday then spent the rest of the day attaching brackets to pcs lol
