    8.1 and Start Screen control

Am I misreading this, but is it true that the new 8.1 Group Policy features that allow you customise the Start Screen (i.e giving back what we used to have!) only works with Enterprise editions, and not Pro?

If thats true then what a ridiculous state of affairs, especially as the EES agreements only give you Windows 7 Enterprise, and not 8!

I can only see 7 Enterprise on mine? But surely Pro should have these features as well!

EEES will give you Windows 8.1 Enterprise. Sounds like you don't have the correct permissions assigned or something.

    - helps I was looking in the right place on VLSC!

Still not sure what limited to Enterprise though, as Pro has always been the default coporate/education choice (in my experience anyway?)

Enterprise has always been the default choice if you have volume licencing from what i have seen.

Enterprise gives you other stuff over pro

    • AppLocker
    • Windows To Go
    • Direct Access
    • BranchCache
    • Remove FX
    • NFS

Ahh I'm new to EES agreements, but every other school I've visited tend to have used XP Pro, then 7 Pro, so 8.1 Pro seemed logical
