Just testing the waters with Windows 8 in a test environment. Is there a way to configure it so that when an application is closed e.g. Microsoft Word it goes straight back to Metro instead of the desktop view? I think if we decide to deploy win8, it would be easier for the students to just have metro view as we are a Special School and its sometimes confusing for the students to navigate through the start menu.
Any ideas would be grateful.
Most applications are more suited to the traditional desktop interface rather than Metro which needs Metro apps if that makes sense.
Ironically Metro's causing more problems for end users and administrators, but there are two solutions -
On Windows 8 currently you can install Classic Shell which allows you to re-introduce the desktop interface (as with Win 7).
Alternatively wait for Windows 8.1 which will be released towards the end of 2013.
