Thumbs up Windows 8 Dev Account for $8 - next 8 days - Dev Unlock your WP7

Windows Phone 8 is out, the tools are available, and devices are about to be released—it’s time to get coding. As an added incentive, for the next 8 days individual developers can register for a Dev Center account for just $8 (a 92 percent savings). Please note because this is a very limited time offer. You’ll be charged $99 USD or equivalent in your local currency, and we’ll refund the difference in the next 30 to 45 days. Watch for more details on Dev Center soon.

Pretty sure this is for WP7-8 and W8 stores so a pretty good deal for $8, silly about the cashback method though.

Sounds like a great deal, but what happens after the first year? Do you get charged $8 or $99?

By that stage you'll probably either be making money off it or have given up on it so it will be a different concern. However it would probably be the $99.

    Just signed up for it:

Link with details and sign up: https://dev.windowsphone.com/en-us/join

Took about 10 minutes to sign up in order to do free apps, can fill in the tax forms and pay out account if I get around to doing much with it. You can developer unlock three phones, down from 5 but a really cheap way to get full access to your WP7 or 8 device all legal like. Sure it stung my CC for NZD $140 initially but should end up at about NZD $12 (price of a foot long Subway Sandwich) in a week or so.

$8 for 8 Save $91(U.S.) on your Windows Phone Dev Center Individual account registration.
Simply register, and $91(U.S.) will be credited to your major credit card or PayPal account you registered with within 30-60 days (payment options vary by market). For developers outside the U.S., if your registration fee was charged in your local currency, your rebate will be issued in the same local currency, in an amount equal to 92% of your registration fee. Taxes, VAT, and other fees are excluded from this offer. Offer valid 10/30/2012 12:00 AM PST through 11/7/2012 11:59 PM PST in countries where the Windows Phone Dev Center registration is available (see http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/wi...v=vs.105).aspx. Not valid for existing registrations, student registrations, and if you’re registering on behalf of a corporation, limited liability company (LLC), partnership, or other company legally registered with your local government. Not combinable with other Microsoft rebates or offers for this registration. Limit 1 Individual registration per individual developer. Offer valid directly from Microsoft only. Contact mplcomm@microsoft.com if you have questions about the status of your rebate. Microsoft is not responsible for incomplete, unconfirmed, or late registrations. Microsoft reserves the right to deny and/or disregard multiple requests and any registration deemed to be false or fraudulent.
