Well, not for me personally - I mean in general; a reason for it's existence.
So I spend my time on these forums justifying the exuberant prices I'm happy to pay for Apple tech whilest denouncing the popularity of Android and bemoaning the death of Windows 8. Then I found this...
Razer confirms Windows 8 gaming tablet with integrated gamepad | Ars Technica
Given the popularity of Windows Gaming, Steam and the XBox, it's a product that surprisingly actually makes some sense. Seen something similar done for iOS and Android and never quiet got the point of it, but properly marketed this could be a good thing for Windows.
Not saying I'd buy one, but credit where credit is due.

12th October 2012, 08:38 AM #6 I tried using the consumer preview for a similar thing, I put the steam desktop shortcuts on the metro inyourface, but the games didn't work too well (directx issues I think) Might retry again with a spare ssd.
Looking around its a registry hack, might not work for release?

Slow tho, the networking isn't up before steam so there's a delay - other thing is the power off is a bit ugly have to hit ctrl-alt-delete
