Windows 7 GPO migration and testing - nearly there!
I've been working on a test Windows 7 machine now, on and off, for a few weeks. I've got my 2008R2 server running with all new GPOs, and I've got my test PC set up as I'd like it.
I have spent alot of time migrating printer and logon scripts into group policy preferences, which all seems to be working, and I've just taken the big step of moving the Windows 7 compatible GPOs over to the users, and unlinked their old GPO.
I do have a point here - if I leave the new users with a mandatory profile, they won't load. I haven't set up a .v2 mandatory profile yet - but do I really need to? Their appdata is redirected to the server with their user areas, and GP controls all of their settings well. What advantages would I see with setting up a .man.v2?
