Anymore details on what the networking problem was please ??
Thanks Ben :)
Ben: does it get an ip if you put it in as a static dhcp entry?
I take it since dhcp is not working PXE is not either?
Are all your models having this issue?
We think its on all 100 computers. Not turned them all on yet, 5 that are on so far all have the same problem :(
We have tried 1 computer on 5 different switches, still the same no IP from DHCP :(
How full is your dhcp scope?
We had an issue with dhcp where it was trying to give out invalid ip addresses when it got full so we had to put in blank entries to stop it using those ip's.
We use the range 192.168.0.2->192.168.2.254 here and we had to add:
to the exclusions as dhcp was trying to give them out which did not work. Possibly try excluding the .255 addresses from your dhcp.
Doubt that's the problem as DHCP has been working fine up until now with all of the other clients we've had but I gave it a go anyway. No joy though.
Just to tie this problem up we had with the dell optiplexs 380's
After a clean installed of windows xp pro with sp3 the onboard nic's pick up a dhcp address in a few seconds !!
No idea what software dell put on the systems to of prevented it from picking up a dhcp address.
Hope this helps someone else :)
