Looking at the state of Vista, the level of it's deployment in schools and the likes of RM CC4, I'd be fairly happy in suggesting Windows 7 will be commonplace in schools before Vista.

Yh i personally think, most schools will skip vista and go straight to windows 7
looking at windows 7 now.. its looking good for m$ again we can only wait and see when the final release comes out.
I had the same problem when testing it out, but so far im impressed with the fact it runs rather well on a 1.4Ghz Willamette :D
The way things are moving in our school its quite likely we will skip the Vista route and go down the W7 route!
That's microsoft plan
Windows 2000 > Vista
Windows XP > Windows 7
Both using the same Kernal, which should make it easier for apps devs
I wonder if he's got the time to try and get FMS installed and working too :)
It might work properly if he rewrites it :p
Serco Facility - Client files, running perfectly.
Serco Timetabler - Client files, running perfectly.
Serco ePortal - Running perfectly, IE8 [working] Chrome [working] FF [working]
Serco + Win 7 = Win

It seems to be working fine on mine. I had issues with it not seeing S: drives (used full UNC paths instead) and once it was installed, it couldn't sort out the connect.ini file. But once I created it by hand, I've been able to log in and use it as I normally do.
But then, I am a mere noob when it comes to SIMS usage. Getting our office staff to use it would be a better test.
I dare you to install it on a live system and have users actually use it.
