Incomplete logons/redirection.. Driver problem? AV uninstall? Broken update?
We have numerous different types of laptops from multiple different manufacturers across the building. HP. Lenovo. Toshiba.
The HP laptops (Probook 6550b and 630's) seem to be encountering connectivity problems. The students can log on fine, it maps their M: (personal, located on the server) drive but consistently doesn't re-map My Documents to the same location. This machines affected are:
HP 630 with an Atheros AR9285 801.11 b/g/n wireless card.
HP 6550b Broadcom 43224AG 802.11 a/b/g/draft-n wireless card.
Other machines of the same specification are not being affected by this.
The thing is, it's affecting both our images, and even affecting one desktop machine that has a wireless card in it but no desktops that are wired in. So it's not the image and not the platform, and looks not to be the wireless card either!
The only other thing we can think of is either a broken Windows Update or that we've changed from Symantec to Sophos over the holidays. Previously Symantec has caused problems completely blocking all wireless connections with faulty Teefer2 Miniports, so we know it hooks into the wireless.. Could uninstalling it have broken the drivers on some of them?
