ie10 proxy setting windows 7
Please can you help.
We have just done a windows update and ie10 has been installed on one of our windows 7 machines and proxy settings are not applying.
Group policy results say this:_
Internet Explorer Branding Failed 19/03/2013 11:03:11
Internet Explorer Branding failed due to the error listed below.
The specified procedure could not be found.
Additional information may have been logged.
I have searched the internet and many people have problems with ie10 on windows 8.
I have tried the following:_
Download the windows 2012 admx and copy the inetres.admx and its appropriate language settings into the central repository here \\Domain\SYSVOL\Domain\Policies\PolicyDefinitions
This has not worked.
I have gone into the gpo for the \home page\user config\preferences\control panel\internet settings\ and click file and new and we only get intent explorer 5, 6 7 and 8
From what I have read this is meant to give us 9 and 10 as well.
I have tried setting the ie proxy through a registry setting
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Internet Settings]
with a log on script of
regedit.exe /s \\Domain\NETLOGON\setproxy\proxy.reg
If the user runs the above script it appears to work ok and the proxy gets set.
We dont have any windows 8 or windows 2012 machines to try the rsat tool.
Have you any idea how I can get round the problem of setting the ie10 proxy settings?
Thanks for all your help.
