CS5 Premier Pro
we have this installed on our desktops, and tyhe problem we have is:
The media Cache files folder within App data is writing back to student profiles and the size ranges from 200mb-700mb in size.
I have been told the program has been installed without looking at file paths, this may be true but i did not install it.
Is there a way of correcting this issue?
Problem is a user error, there is an option when you start the new project in Premier Pro to select the path for Media Cache files and you can choose where it puts them. Our Media Students are told to make a folder in the Media Section under the project they are doing for example:
M:\Joe Blog\Unit1\Video1\Media Cache
They follow that pattern so the are there for use on any machine they use, out of the profile and are backed up so can be re-pointed etc... been working fine for us for 2 years doing the moving trick and not a problem takes a few pokes to get them to remember to do it and you can do it post starting a project but takes time.
Adobe Premiere Pro * Setting up your system is a useful link from Adobe :)
Thanks for this, is there a way to default this path for users?
Anybody got any suggestions on how to manage kids using premier on laptops? We use folder redirection, but obviously half a dozen (or even one, probably) people trying to edit video resources over wireless is a *bad* idea.
Tips on managing the resources and ensuring they get back on to the network so that they get backed up, and are available from another machine would be greatly appreciated.
Not that I had noticed anywhere but I didn't look into it much more than this is the issue folder, you can move it with a few clicks, showed our Media Staff how to do that and explained why we needed them to do that and problem be gone so to speak
