GPO Refresh

Hi Folks,

Quick question. I have notice that some of the client machines don't seem to pull down the GPO's or they error. Is there a way that I could logon to the machine as an admin and maybe run a script that would get the machine to pull down the policies (maybe deleting thetm and forcing an update).

I deployed a wallpaper via GPO and not all of the machines have picked it up and some of the students are still bringing down the old wallpaper. The machine all switch off at the end of the day, so have had a change to reboot etc.

Any ideas whould be great.

Log on to the pc, launch an administrative CMD Prompt, type gpupdate /force /sync

should do the job.

Thanks Simon. Is there a way to auto answer the GPUpdate so I can run the script and it will automatically say yes to the reboot?

Try using Remote Group Policy Update Gpupdate | Specops Gpupdate

Its free and fantastic. Been using it for years. It will force an update and reboot the machines for you.

Yeah, if you use the /boot argument, that will do it, e.g.:
gpupdate /force /boot
