When a user launches IE they are presented with the attached.
Deleting the user profile doesn't cure it and nothing useful has shown up in my search results.
Every users default search engine is Bing and no add-ons are being used.
Has anyone experienced this and what steps did you take to overcome?
This problem can be created by third party add-ons, but also corrupted system files required by IE. Re-imaging is probably the easiest way, seeing as it's tightly integrated with Windows.
Reimaged the computer in question but to no avail. Have also removed any references of IE implementation in GPO and that proved fruitless.
I'm thinking IE10 is something we could desperately do with. If the problem continues we're going to make the move over to Chrome.
We used to get this at each and every student logon. They used to get a new default profile from the computer, and it looks like the installation of newer IE's caused this problem as they did not update the default profile on the computer. I fixed it by logging on to a machine, fixing the search providers by opening up the search providers tool and adding Google to it. I then took this profile made it a default profile and put it into the NetLogon folder.
By moving the Default profile to the Netlogon folder, how did you go about ensuring that every one of your users got this as a profile to begin with?
Because when checking for a profile, it checks Netlogon first and if one is there uses that.
Honestly, I did not know this! First time I'm ever hearing of this.
Whereabouts exactly in the Netlogon folder do I store the Default profile - would it be: \\Servername\Netlogon\Default ?
Yup that's it!
Ours is in \\server\netlogon\Default User
