Home Folder Data Calculator for end user

Hi all,

Wondering what people are using for end users to see how much space they have left before there quota hits 100% on the server. I know we can use Windows 2008 R2 FRSM and email notification but this isn't good enough. There must be a script or an app that the end user can run to see how much capacity they have used and is left.

Do you allow your users to have access to (My) Computer? If their home drive is mounted to a letter, it shows them how much of their quota is in use. Their network drive says 200mb of 1gb in use or whatever.

i wrote a little app in visual basic which displays the quota left on the desktop just above the clock, if your home drive is H i can attach a copy of it here.

The home drive path is Z: unfortunately.

Also, the user doesn't have permission to view My Computer

Any chance I could possibly check the the visual basic app? Please.

@victory2012 would it be an idea to allow a 'driveletter' variable at startup so that other drives could be shown if required?

Thats very true, i never thought abotu sharing it before so as it was coded to my system didnt really think about it.. im going to attach an ini file for the varibles and publish the program for anyone interested.

have you got the H: one aswell?

Attached is version with a settings file , the settings file must be in the same directory as the application.

Simply insert the exe and that's it...?
