Laptop screen 'black' after hibernate wake up

I'm currently working through our first Windows 7 image build, and have come across an annoying issue whereby the screen goes black after the 'Resuming' animation for Windows. Nothing I do can rouse it from its dark slumber.

The machine is on and responsive - I can connect to its hard disk via c$.

    Anyone else come across this?

Have you got the BIOS set to repost video after resume? Also which drivers, intel? We had an issue with one lot of the drivers through Windows update that killed some and messed up others similarly.

The other thing to check is that system defaults packs and / or hotkey utils are installed as the switch input may not be being polled propperly after resume.

Yes I have seen this on our latest batch of Toshiba Sat Pros, haven't had time to properly troubleshoot but as it was only affecting this batch I thought it was a machine issue rather than Win 7 but guess I could be wrong.

Nothing in the BIOS to change on this laptop. Plus, its getting past the BIOS before it goes black, so its gotta be a driver issue.

I'm looking at updating the Intel HD graphics driver now.
