    Have you tried irfanview (www.irfanview.com/ ).. that used to find cameras as twain devices and allow you to capture the image from them ..

    The webcam doesn't appear as a TWAIN device. It appears in Devices and Printers, though not in Computer. Double clicking the webcam in Devices and printers simply show the Properties/Device Info of the webcam.

    It used to show within the irfanview file menu under the twain devices even if not on the main computers devices page .. worth a shot installing it if it still does and does what you're after ..

    I have already tried, and it doesn't appear within IrfanView as a TWAIN device.

    Does the webcam have a WIA driver? If so, you may be able to use Paint.

    Sorry to bump up this thread, but I have another question. Webcam Viewer appears to be the best solution, however, the captured images (saved as JPGs) only save in the same location as the executable. It creates a sub folder, and dumps the images in there. This isn't ideal for us, as we want the images to go directly in the home folder of the user. We don't want to have the executable in the users' home folder either. Somehow we need to redirect that folder to S:\, which is the map for their home folder. Junctions is just awkward, and we can't think of any other solutions.
