Windows 7 installation disk does not boot up.

Trying to install windows 7 onto a FS esprimo mobile V6555 laptop but it does not boot from disk. Managed to install XP professional so cd\dvd is working ok. Windows 7 disk is recognised but no files or autorun shown. Boots on all other pcs. Any ideas ?

Try using a linux boot disk to blat the hard disk, the disk should autoboot instead of giving the "Press a key to boot from cd...." message if no bootable partitions exist, maybe this will get round the issue?

You may need to change the bios settings to boot from the CD/DVD drive directly as auto run function may be turned off.
