Windows 7 + Canon LiDE 20 Scanner

Hi all,

Does anyone else have this combination at there schools? Windows 7 and a Canon LiDE 20. I'm having a problem with them ever since we upgraded to Windows 7, the driver/Scangear CS will not load under a standard non-admin user, it just seems to crash the program that was trying to scan.

Has anyone else come across this problem and can suggest any fixes?

It works fine under an admin account. Could there be something in group policy block something?

have you tried downloading the software for a newer scanner say a lide 60 iirc it has the drivers and may be more win7 compliant

We have a couple of LiDE 30 scanners which use the same driver, no problems under Windows 7. Are you using the TWAIN or WIA driver? We're using the WIA driver and I seem to recall having a tough time finding it. Can send it to you if you want.

erm i havnt tried it it was just a suggestion as i can never find the right cd for them and am always using other versions
