Hello all
I'm not sure if this should go in the Windows 7 forum or the Server 2008 forum?
Is there a Group Policy setting or something similar that will allow Windows 7 to automatically activate itself when a non-admin is logged on?
I still use Ghost to clone all our machines and during the image creation process, I enter the key and activate the machine, however, after cloning the image to a lab, none of the lab machines are activated anymore (but they still have the key entered) - I then have to log onto each machine and manually activate it because it will not happen unless an Administrator does it.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

15th January 2011, 09:58 AM #3 I don't need to sysprep, I setup everything using a normal account, copy the profile overwriting the default profile and then Ghost handles the removing and rejoining of the domain.

15th January 2011, 10:07 AM #4 you will need to setup as KMS server - you register the key on the KMS host which places a entry in DNS which the machines lookup and activate from.
but to be honest i would sysprep but automate it.
