The Windows 7 Start Menu Search box is not displaying any results. It just says "searching..."
I had tried all the other solutions: Hot fix, registry fixes etc to no avail.

It turns out, disabling On-Access scanning in Sophos Anti Virus (specifically, the "Read" part) fixes it.

Has anyone else had this problem and managed to fix it without having to disable a key part of Sophos?

It's a right pain as we need to have on-access scanning enabled.
