    Facebook chat turns off Aero?

    Anyone else get this?

I'm using Firefox 3.6.3, Java 6 and Windows 7 Aero desktop.

I rarely use Facebook chat, but just did, and on the event of a chat box 'popping' up, my screen momentarily goes black, and then refreshes with the Aero interface turned off.

If I close and restart Firefox, Aero relaunches, but the same thing happens next time a chat box pops up.

I have a good spec machine, trouble free in all respects, so this has puzzled me.

It's not unique either, some guy here is having the same issue. He fixed it with a Java update, but mine is fully up-to-date.

    Any ideas?

I'm not too fussed with sorting it out, as it is rare for me to use FB chat, but it is intriguing nonetheless.

I saw this on my other halfs laptop. i believe i resolved it by disabling the quick time plugin, god knows what quicktime had to do with facebook chat but im sure that was what fixed it.

I've come across this before too. I solved the issue as Dan-Speed suggested by disabling Quicktime browser plugin. As an aside I believe Facebook uses Quicktime to play the "pop" sound when a new message is received.
