    Windows 7 issues

Iv finally taken the plunge and put 7 on my laptop, added an extra partition and use it when im not in a rush (Xp is so much faster for quick stuff). But straight away I found two problems,

Problem 1: Every boot up now it finds inconsistencies in the drive and tries to scan it (I presume itís because it not my primary OS and I donít mind skipping it, but still a little annoying)

Problem 2: It wonít download anything! Just sits on the download dialog doesnít ask to save or run then the connection fails.

Possibly partition delete I think, Xp is the future!

XP is not the future, W7 is a revelation.

XP is future in much the same way as "The King is dead, long live the King".

If you are having these problems after a fresh install it does sound like an install problem. Give it a proper go and find a dedicated machine.

For those who know HP desktops, I took a 512MB dc7100 with Win 7 and a 1GB dc7600 with XP, both with same SOE setups. Photoshop CS4 loaded in 30 seconds on XP and 10 seconds on Windows 7.
