Please wait for the user profile service - slow
When we are logging in our Windows 7 test machine, we find that it after pressing return the machine will sit at "Please wait for the user profile service" - does anyone know what it is doing during this stage and if there is any way to speed it up?
Once it passes this stage of the logon process, the rest of the login takes around 5 seconds, but this is a bit of a show stopper.
Thanks in advance.

Turn on Verbose Logon - so you can see what it is doing
1. Open regedit and goto:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\ Policies\System
2. In right-side pane create/modify DWORD value VerboseStatus and set its value to:
0 - To Disable Verbose Status Message
1 - To Enable Verbose Status Message
- it is probably doing something with GPOs - like loading printers or similar.. but this should give a clue..
