    Hate Microsoft Ads

I heard Family guy was going to do a Win7 ad... Anyway, not my point. My point is I ruddy hate the PC Word - Windows 7 ad where they say it increases battery life. How? I mean if my linux laptop runs for 4 hrs on battery surely it would be the same? Or does it come with a min generator? Also does my pc's battery life increase?

Sorry to rant, just that ad seems to be following me.

I'd imagine the comparison is with Vista, and they'll say that Win7 does a better job of managing the power to peripherals and components to shut them off when not required to save juice.

Windows (XP and 7) both run for longer on this laptop than when I boot to ubuntu.

Going to do a complete reinstall of the ubuntu partition on Monday with the x64 9.10 so will see if that makes any difference.
