    Some points

With a vista 'upgrade' you need an OS to upgrade first. Looks like the same for 7.

    XP: Clean install only.
    Vista: Clean install or upgrade.
    7RC: Clean install or upgrade.

I have some preperation to do.

I ordered this from the link someone posted a week or so ago. No problems as mentioned above with a .sch.uk address.

Also ordered with a .sch.uk without issue.

As there is no direct upgrade path you, as the site says, and in case you wish to change any major details like partition sizes/hdd installation, you may do a custom installation which will be a fresh install.

Lets not forget there isn't actually an upgrade version of this OS - at least not in the EU. The disc you'll get, if you've ordered one, will be a full disc.

Anyone know if this can be done with the Ultimate version? Annoyingly our addresses end with org.uk so I don't think we can do it.

    No, pro or home only.

Sorry if this is old news, but if getting a refund on OEM-Windows is possible (Dell refunds PC user for rejecting Windows ? The Register) then not only is it a bargain upgrade, but also a few quid off your next PC.
