Nice surprise waiting for me this evening

Dixons clearly didn't want the Post Office strikes to cause problems so have posted Windows 7 out over the weekend. I arrive home this evening to find it sitting patiently on the floor.

Just got to decide which PC to put it on.

    Nice one Dixons.

Have you installed the 64-bit version?

For the interested amongst you, you get 2 discs. 32-bit and 64-bit. Same serial.

Got mine today also but I probably won't bother installing it till the RC is due to expire or I get a new hard drive.

Thats how it was with Vista..

Unfortunately, due to other priorities (ie My Son's Xmas Presents!) I haven't ordered, and am not likely to be any time soon, ordered a copy of Windows 7....

You have to ask how the Unions think they're going to beat Royal Mail on this one? They've already lost huge contracts such as Amazon and I don't think the Unions realise it's harder to build bridges rather than destroy them.

Once this is all over, Amazon (understandably) probably won't use Royal Mail due to the excessive back log. I also think Labour's Peter Mandelson has been absolutely useless in trying to resolve this issues, however I'm glad you guys got your copy of Windows 7 earlier than scheduled

    You actually bought Vista?

Just got the OEM upgrade disc myself so wasn't aware of this.

Snap Just been told by a mate who's a bit in the know on these things DSGi are shipping them earlier now to avoid the Postal Strike on Thursday which would ruin all our Thursdays where we were waiting for our Windows 7 Professionals to arrive.

Mine hasn't arrived yet. Then again, the bank just rang thinking MS Store (and everything else bought recently) was a fraud transaction in their routine monitoring so that's probably delayed it!
