Cheers, will have a look. Starting to get some nibbles from schools looking to upgrade at around the Christmas period and 7 is something I'm getting asked about more frequently.

That reminds me ... must get in touch with a certain secondary to see if they will do a short talk next Friday about their findings so far on the early adoption program ...

    looks like its just started

Edit: ACT (Application Compatibility Toolkit) looks fantastic, pointing out all apps and drivers etc along with pointing out incompatible hardware on any of your hosts with the agent installed along with scaning an installer directly to look for signs of trouble witout an install.

I can see a long list of incompatible edu apps though.

Presentation should be avalible or download from here in a couple of days: http://windowsteamblog.com/blogs/spr...d/default.aspx

Useful tool for Edu apps checking for admin rights usage and logging of stuff that fails: LUA Buglight 2.0
http://blogs.msdn.com/aaron_margosis...aBuglight.aspx (not latest version on webcast though)

    Application Compatibility Shim behaviour viewer:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/cjacks/archive...plication.aspx

Using App compatibility shims you can set the resolution and colourdepth for certain apps automatticly with no extra scripting. These packages can actually be deployed to anything XP and above.
