    Personally I'm waiting for SlySoft to release their SlyPlayer software before I get a BluRay drive for my PC. This should put an end to having to upgrade the player whenever the movie studios update the DRM used on the discs.

    First time I had the same problem. But now, I can play both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray with CyberLink PowerDVD Ultra v7.3.3319a on Windows 7. Maybe you can try my config in this pic below.
    Hope you will enjoy your HD experience on Windows 7.

    I think it is a wise decision to ignore blu ray because adding Blu-Ray support to Windows would increase the price of the operating system by $30. You have to buy a third party software to run blu ray.
