anyone know if it will be avalible for download anytime soon on Technet Plus?
or if MS have said when it will be avalible to technet / msdn or VL subscribers... not that i have seen beta software on the VL service i have seen some on Technet Plus.

If you're talking about 7 its not even out of the alpha stage yet! Heard a couple of rumors about it being available for beta testing in Jan.

I'm guessing autumn 2009 is when we'll see Windows 7, just in time for Christmas I'd wait until Microsoft released something official.

Microsoft will definitely release Windows 7 on TechNet Plus (as they have done with Vista and XP in the past). As to when, autumn 2009 sounds highly likely although nothing has been confirmed yet.
