    GPO problem for new laptops?

    Hi,
we recently took delivery of some new laptops with a windows7 build on them.

When we add them to the network the GPO policy which handles the setting of the (internet) proxy only appears to work in the user which updated the IE brwoser on the laptops.

this means that any other user using the laptop has no internet access as the proxy isn't set.

We have added the computers to the correct container in AD i.e. with existing laptops under "managed computers" , and existing laptops on the network work OK with a multitude of different userids (staff and students) and the proxies set.

any ideas where to look for clues much appreciated?

    Regards
    Chris

    Just a few questions.

How are you deploying the Proxy Settings?

What version of IE is on the laptops?

    Hi,

We have version 10 and I upgraded one to 11 for IE but it didn't make any difference.

We deploy the proxy settings using The following group policy printout....I've edited for obvious reasons and I used gpupdate/force to ensure we were appplying it.

We have IE 10 on a few tablets and the following settings similar to yours the only issue we have is setting the home page

We are deploying the settings to Machines and in Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System/Group Policy we have User Group Policy Loopback processing enabled and set to Merge. Then the proxy settings are set on the HKEY_CURRENT_USER like yours.
